Activities

Courses are  enhanced by a range of activities including:-

• Visiting writers - past visitors have included Dorothy Alexander (2003 winner of the Macallan Short Story Prize) and Edwin Morgan (Poet Laureate of Glasgow)
  
• Writers' workshops - creative writing activities led by practising writers
  
• Theatre visits - most  recently "Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" to supplement Advanced Higher and Drama courses
  
• Theatre workshops - visiting companies like the Royal Lyceum in Edinburgh leading practical work with pupils to supplement Drama and English courses
  
• Drama Club - meets regularly in the Drama Studio
  
• School Show - produced in conjunction with the Music Department
  
• Newspaper/Magazine - finalist in the 2002 Scotsman Schools Newspaper Challenge.  Currently a small group of senior pupils produces an in-house magazine, "Phase One"
