Books
There are approximately 11,000 books in the LRC. In addition, as part of the Scottish Borders Library Service, we also have access to the stocks of all the other Border libraries (school and public).
Audio-visual
We have audio-cassettes, kept on the shelves with the books, and DVDs kept at the issue desk. Please ask staff if you would like to borrow these. Computers
There are 15 PCs in the LRC all connected to the school network and all with Internet access.
Computers are for educational use only and may be booked for use throughout the day. The Booking folders are kept at the issue desk. 1 person per computer only (unless a teacher has brought a class to the LRC and requires that pupils share a p.c.)
As well as the Internet, pupils have access to a number of other LRC resources in the Topic Selector which appears on the desk-top when you first log-on. Double click on the LRC icon and the relevant folders will appear on your desk-top. You can access the Encyclopedia Britannica, The World Book Encyclopedia as well as a number of back-issues of the Scotsman newspaper. This area is under development and we hope to add more resources soon.
