The Mathematics Department now occupies the three floors of the recently refurbished Tower Block, a part of the school which is visible from nearly everywhere in Peebles.

The courses that we teach in the department all follow the National Guidelines.

In S1 and S2 our courses are differentiated in line with the National Guidelines for Mathematics 5-14 and consist of curriculum based course work using the textbook Mathematics in Action, along with an integrated course on Problem Solving and Non-Calculator work.

In S3 and S4 we teach the Standard Grade courses at all three levels, namely Foundation, General and Credit. All three of these courses are based on departmentally produced material and not on any textbook.

In S5 we teach three levels from the Higher Still programme, these being Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Higher. These courses are based on the Mathematics in Action textbooks.

In S6 we have the same three Higher Still courses available along with Advanced Higher for pupils who have successfully completed Higher level in S5.
