Aims and Introduction
Music is a central part of the school curriculum. It is a powerful and universal form of communication and provides special opportunities to develop pupils' imagination, expression and aesthetic judgement. Within the curriculum, the subject can contribute significantly to pupils' personal and social development. It introduces to many a lifelong interest in music. It equips pupils with the skills and knowledge necessary for entry to courses in further and higher education where music can be pursued as a specialist subject or part of a more general education.
Music has a great deal to offer in terms of the school ethos through its extra-curricular programme. Pupils can experience a sense of community through performing with staff, parents and other interested people. The school concert can provide an uplifting occasion that sustains morale and provides us with lifelong memories
