Fun Games Club  - for S1 (term one only)

Christmas Shoebox Appeal for Eastern Europe – aimed at the whole school.

We have visits from various members of the community - eg the local Community Police Officer to give information on crime and punishment, the local clergy to talk about Euthanasia, the RSPCA to discuss the implications of animal testing.

We are also in contact with the local Peace Group.  These visits add a personal dimension to the learning experience of our fourth year.

We have a small group of pupils setting up a monthly Fair Trade sweet stall, linking in with the local Traid Craft group.

We are planning a joint event with the Learning Resource Centre where a story-teller will introduce the first year to Creation Myths from around the world.  This ties in nicely with the ‘Ideas of God’ unit.

We are looking into the possibility of co-operation, through participation in the school's Comenius Project, with schools in Finland, Italy and Germany.  One area we wish to explore is the way in which each country celebrates Christmas.  This will be done with S1 classes.
