I would like to welcome you to the Peebles High School website. The website offers a flavour of school’s ethos, aims and educational provision as well as information on the pupils’ activities and achievements.

The school offers opportunities for all pupils to achieve success. They are taught how to think, how to learn, how to enjoy exploration and how to make the most of their talents in a challenging and supportive environment.

We have a committed and enthusiastic staff who work in partnership with parents and the community to deliver an enhanced high quality educational experience. The School Board and Parent Teacher Association work proactively with the school.

In terms of examination results, we figure in the list of top achieving schools in Scotland, however we also pride ourselves on the many extra-curricular opportunities we offer in sport, music, drama, clubs, theatre visits, charity events and the many others described on the website.

In line with national and Authority directives, we have implemented a strategic plan to develop courses, which will match the needs and aspirations of the pupils. The enhanced curriculum delivery will challenge all ability levels and offer greater choice in the new National Qualifications.

I believe we have to tap the creativity and enthusiasm of pupils and involve them in the decision-making processes within the school. We have a very committed pupil council and a very successful senior student council who contribute to the many developments and activities within the school.
