Does the teacher know?
There are many reasons why a pupil might be experiencing problems in their school life. If teachers are to be able to assist pupils to follow a smooth, untroubled path through the system and yet allow full pupil participation in the life of the school, it may often be necessary to know something of the background of a particular child.
For example:
i. Are there health problems that we should be aware of?
ii. Does your child have any special dietary requirements or controls?
iii. Are there any problems in taking part in games or other physical activities?
iv. Are there any particular sensitivities that we should be aware of?
Obviously some of these issues might raise points of some delicacy and we would stress our commitment to consideration and confidentiality in dealing with information offered. Give it some thought - is there anything we should know that would help us cater more fully for your child?
Your child's nominated Pupil Support Teacher should be your first point of contact.
